How it started
I went to Paul Mitchell, the school, in Danbury, CT in 2009. Going to school for what I was passionate about was my father's idea, since 'Corporate America' didn't seem to fit me well. I went to every continued education class I could get my hands on, absorbing everything about the industry. After graduating, the first year in a half, I went to work for two different salons; one being hair replacement salon and the other was a bridal boutique. I learned so much in my time with both salons and can’t thank them enough for the invaluable amount of knowledge they shared with me.
I then decided to work for myself. I was guided by other stylists, that the best way to begin working for yourself in this industry was to rent a chair to see if it was what I wanted. That’s how I found my ‘salon family’ in Bristol, CT (Hair I Am) for almost eight years. They became family, sisters even. They didn’t always agree, but they always had each others backs, no room for divas. That’s where I learned to build other stylists up, not to envy them, but to learn from them. 2018- early 2020 I had started looking for my own corner of the world to start my own brand of hair salon. With the help and support of everyone at Hair I Am, I never gave up. Then in April of 2020, my mother-in-law, Susan, had mentioned she was ready to step down from being a salon owner herself and start the conversation of selling me her career baby; Blonde & Beyonde (yes, with an ‘E’). Susan worked hard with me to make my dreams come true. She has since stayed on as a mentor and stylist. She works hand in hand with me everyday. I couldn’t ask for a better start to my future. She has been an integral part in this process, I’ll never be able to thank her enough. She guides me every day. Now, being able to build my brand of Blonde & Beyond, LLC. is my dream come true. Thank you to everyone who has believed in me through this process and still fight to keep me going. Zach for being my light, Poppa Craig for all the man hours you’ve put into the remodel, Lydia for letting me steal him away, my father Glenn for pushing me in the first place, and the rest of my family and friends for your blind support in every way and belief in me to make this happen. I appreciate and adore you all. My most humblest of thank yous, to you all! xoxo
